016 - stare look glare 바라보다 쳐다보다 노려보다

바라보다 [동사]

1. 어떤 대상을 바로 향하여 보다.
2. 어떤 현상이나 사태를 자신의 시각으로 관찰하다.
3. 실현 가능성이 있다고 생각한 일에 기대나 희망을 가지다.

1. To face something directly and look/watch.
2. To observe a circumstance or situation with one's own eyeballz
3. To have a hope or expectation of something that has a chance of happening.

쳐다보다 [처ː다보다] [동사]

1. 위를 향하여 올려 보다.
2. 얼굴을 들어 바로 보다.
3. 어떤 대상을 전적으로 의지하며 바라보다.

1. To face upwards and look.
2. To hold one's head squarely and look directly (at something.)
3. To look to something for something. To look upon something fully and dependently.

쳐다보다

노려보다 [노려보다] [동사]

1. 미운 감정으로 어떠한 대상을 매섭게 계속 바라보다.
2. 탐이 나서 눈독 들여 겨누어 보다.

1. To 바라보다 something harshly with some bad juju. (To channel hateful feelings and stare at something/someone harshly)
2. To aim one's eyes at something one covets or desires.

노려보다
    stare (at), glare (at), scowl (at), glower (at)

쏘아보다 [동사]

날카롭게 노려보다.

To 노려보다 at something "sharply" (literally "sharp" like a knife, or "with a knife-like sharpness")

흘기다 [흘기다] [동사]

눈동자를 옆으로 굴리어 못마땅하게 노려보다.

To roll ones eyes to the side and 노려보다 something dissatisfiedly. (Not "roll" like "Don't roll your eyes at me, young man." but like... your eyeballs are balls so you "roll" them like... yeah don't be a babo and you'll prolly understand.)

흘기다
    (눈을) give a sidelong scowl, look askance (at)

흘겨보다 [흘겨보다] [동사]

흘기는 눈으로 보다.
Look at something with eyes that are 흘기다ing. Whatever truly the difference between 흘기다 and 흘겨보다 is I'll never know.

흘겨보다
    leer at (a person), glance sidewise (at), look at sideways, look out of the corner of one's eye(s), cast a sidelong glance at (a person), look askance (at)

빗뜨다 [빋뜨다] [동사]

눈을 옆으로 흘겨 뜨다.

흘기다 your eyes to the side and open them. (I don't fakin understand either. I now hate this word.)

빗뜨다
    look sidewise, look out of the corner of (one's eye)

째려보다 [동사]

못마땅하여 매서운 눈초리로 흘겨보다.
To be dissatisfied with something and 흘겨보다 it with a fierce or harsh look.

TL;DR:

바라보다 is most commonly used as "gaze", and in a positive manner

쳐다보다 is most commonly used as "stare", at best a neutral manner but usually the type of staring you don't want.

노려보다 or 째려보다 is most commonly used for "glare", as in, looking at someone angrily or unhappily etc etc. Obviously not a "good" thing.
